Paulie Malignaggi breaks down Glanton vs Light
Paulie Malignaggi is used to world title fights, having partaken in his fair share over the years, and this coming Friday in Tampa, Florida, Malignaggi will be on the mic once more, as he brings his analytical expertise to ProBox TV, where Brandon Glanton (17-0, 14KO) will take on David Light (19-0, 12KO) in a battle with the WBO Global and WBO International cruiserweight titles on the line, that would also see the winner move closer towards a showdown with WBO World cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie.
'Bulletproof' Glanton, 30 from California, tackles New Zealand's 'The Great White' Light, 31 from New Zealand, at the White Sands Event Center in Florida on a Pro Box Promotions event.
Malignaggi gave his take on the December 2 card, to be shown live on ProBox TV.com, "It's another fun night of action on ProBox TV, but it's high stakes in the main event, with the number 6 and number 7 in the WBO going at it.
"It's always fun when the big boys fight and Glanton is a no nonsense type of guy. David Light is a good boxer, he was a good amateur with good skills, so this one is going to be a cracker that's not to miss on ProBox TV.
"The winner of that fight should be in line to fight Lawrence Okolie, and activity is key in boxing. Glanton has kept active on ProBox TV this year and I think that's a factor in any fight he has, he's a livewire and he can punch, that causes anyone in the cruiserweight division problems."
Malignaggi has been a key witness in watching the rise of ProBox TV's stars that include Marques Valle, Jaycob Gomez and Jusiyah Shirley who feature this Friday on ProBox TV.
The Brooklyn born two-weight world champion gave his valued view on the future stars on display this Friday, "Jusiyah Shirley is a come-forward slick and quick fighter. He's got a lot of skills that catch the eye from ringside. Shirley has fast hands and is explosive, his journey will be fun.
"Marques Valle is a machine. He's a no nonsense action fighter. Him and his brother Dominic have the potential to be breakout stars in 2023 on ProBox TV. They're never in bad fights.
"Jaycob Gomez is a good little fighter coming off the island (Puerto Rico). He's making big improvements in the gym and is in a real fight on Friday."
Malignaggi continued, opening up on his hopes on ProBox TV for 2023, "ProBox TV is all about action fights and future stars. 2023 is going to be an exciting year and I'm excited to be a part of the ProBox TV team.
"I expect to see some breakout stars come out of ProBox TV. The likes of Darrelle Valsaint, Najee Lopez along with the fighters mentioned before and ProBox TV will look to showcase other promoters future stars such as Kelvin Davis who fights on Friday night.
"You're definitely going to see some fast tracked contenders coming through at ProBox TV, so stay tuned for some exciting fighters."
