And still… Panya Pradabsri retains WBC belt
The straw-weight champion of the World Boxing Council, Thai Panya Pradabsri (37-1, 24 KO’s), had to work harder than expected and survive a scare in the seventh round, to defeat his youngest challenger Danai Ngiabphukhiaw (9-3, 5 KO’s), by decision at east of Nakhon Sawan, Thailand.
From the beginning of the fight, defending champion Panya went straight out to fight more aggressively, landing hard, but the challenger Danai connected heavily during an exchange in round seven.
The champion had to work hard to be able to come back to win the fight.
The judges’ scorecards were 117-111 twice and 118-110, all in favour of Panya.
The event was produced by Petchyindee Boxing Promotions’ Piyarat Wachirarattanawong, broadcast live throughout the Kingdom of Thailand on True4U Channel 24.
