Otto Wallin believes he is more deserving of the rematch against Tyson Fury above Dereck Chisora
World heavyweight title contender Otto Wallin told Lord Ping in an interview this week that he should be given the rematch against former rival Tyson Fury, not Dereck Chisora.
The 31-year-old Swede was adamant in his statement, "I deserved it with my performance in the first fight. I landed more punches on Fury than anybody has in his whole career. I cut him badly in two places and the fight could have easily been stopped. In fact, if I had those cuts the fight would for sure have been stopped. When I fought Fury I had never been on that level before and I had only fought one round in 18 months prior to that fight. Now I’ve gained experience in fighting Fury and winning four other fights after that."
'The Gypsy King', unbeaten in 33 fights, and the reigning WBC world heavyweight champion was cut badly above his right eye early in the fight with Wallin, and later required 47 stitches.
Since that sole career defeat in 2019, Wallin has won four fights in a row and is firmly back in the world title mix, currently ranked WBC #9, IBF #15 and WBO #8.
The former European Union champion added, "I’m a better fighter now than what I was in 2019. It’s simply not a competitive fight [between Fury and Chisora]. Fury has already beaten Chisora twice and once stopped him. You can’t compare my fight with Fury with Chisoras two fights."
