Usyk to tip the scales at 225lbs
Two-weight world champion to bulk up to 16st for Joshua rematch
Oleksandr Usyk’s predicted weight for his rematch with Anthony Joshua has come in at 225lbs by Sporting Index.
The sports spread betting specialists believe the Ukrainian will be carrying 4lbs more than when the pair of heavyweights first clashed back in September 2021, and will therefore be fighting off a career-high weight.
The fight is priced to last 28 minutes – one minute into the tenth round – while Sporting Index, who also offer fixed odds betting, make Usyk the odds-on 9/20 favourite to retain his belts.
Neville Burdock, Head of Sportsbook at Sporting Index, said: “Recent images of OleksandrUsyk have him looking heavier than ever, but we don’t think he’s going to come in overly big as that could nullify his key attributes.
“I think we’re looking at him hitting around the 16st mark, meaning it’ll be the heaviest he’s fought at but not a huge departure from his natural size.”
