Nigel Benn mourns brother Mark
British boxing legend Nigel Benn has posted an emotional tribute to his brother Mark, who died battling coronavirus this week.
The two-weight world champion at middleweight and super-middleweight – who retired in 1996 with 42 wins, five defeats and one draw – revealed the news on his Instagram account.
"My brother Mark passed away 2day (Covid 19), as we all were growing up Mark was the Joker of the Benn house hold," Benn posted.
Other high-profile boxers joined in with their own tributes to 'The Dark Destroyer's' late brother as another former world champion, Barry McGuigan, offered his "deepest sympathies".
Mark was also the uncle of undfeated welterweight Conor Benn, who is promoted by Eddie Hearn.
The WBC also paid tribute: "The entire WBC family prays to God, along with Nigel Benn and his family and many friends at this time of such deep sorrow."
