Welsh youngster Brandon Scott joins MTK Global
MTK Global is delighted to announce the signing of Wales rising star Brandon Scott ahead of his plans to turn professional.
Hailing from Swansea, Scott had an impressive amateur career, winning numerous accolades, including three national titles and a British title.
The 18-year-old will now enter the paid ranks under the guidance of MTK Global, and he's looking forward to the journey ahead of him.
Scott said:"Excited doesn’t even come close to how I’m feeling. I’m more grateful than anything to MTK Global and my coach Gavin Rees for giving me this opportunity to show what I’m made of.
"It feels like I’ve already made it. I'm on the same team as some of the biggest names in boxing. I always watch them on TV, and now to think I’m part of the same management team as them is crazy.
"I started boxing when I was 12. I was extremely overweight and I then lost over 25 kg by the time I was 13 which to this day is what I’m most proud of. I am now a three-time national champion, a British champion and I also competed in the European Championships in Russia.
"I've travelled all around Europe winning and competing in several tournaments and fights, but now I’ve got my eyes focused on making a success in the pro ranks with my coach Gavin, and I am willing to push myself further than anyone in order to get what I want.
"I want to get out as soon as possible, and if that means fighting on Christmas Day I’m there. I just want to be as active possible so I can keep moving forward in my career and start to looking towards title territory as soon as it can be done.
"I love my country. I’m proud to be Welsh and it means the world that I’ll be flying the Welsh flag and hopefully the people of Wales will get behind me."
MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton added: "We're pleased to welcome Brandon Scott to the team. We saw this past week just how talented the current Welsh crop of fighters is when we held our MTK Fight Night in Cardiff, and Brandon is the latest exciting addition.
"He's only young, so it's important that we build him up at the right speed, but it looks certain to be a very interesting journey and we can't wait to be a part of it."
News on when Scott will make his professional debut will be announced in due course.
