Background
Nantwich's Nathan Gorman has his first fight of the year, exactly one year and one week to the day of his last fight with Fabio Wardley, where he was stopped in the third round of the British heavyweight title clash at Wembley Arena.
His Ukrainian opponent has lost just once in eight bouts, and recorded a win over British heavyweight Kash Ali in the summer. The 29-year-old will know he is up against it, but will be extremely confident having already won on these shores just over four months ago.
The 27-year-old has challenged twice for the British title and will want to get back into contention for the Lonsdale belt as soon as possible.
Fun Fact: Nathan is of Irish Traveller heritage and is the great-nephew of undefeated bare-knuckle fighter Bartley Gorman, known as the 'King of the Gypsies', and the cousin of fellow boxers Tyson, Tommy and Hughie Fury.
Quotes
Kalle Sauerland, Wasserman Boxing: “For our December 1 show in Bolton, live on Channel 5, comes the return of Nathan Gorman, who goes into a tough, tough fight with Bohdan Myronets.
“This a heavy-duty, big-punching match-up that will not be for the faint-hearted, so make sure you tune-in.
“And it supports a brilliant showdown for the European flyweight title as the future of women’s boxing, Chloe Watson, takes on Justine Lallemand.
“We’ve also got Roman Fury, Dan Toward, Codie Smith and many more on a bumper show in Bolton!”
Predictions
Tim Rickson BBN Editor: “I expect Gorman to secure the win, no matter how it comes. He is a stylish fighter, with boxing in his blood. Before his defeat to Wardley, he had scored consecutive first and second round knockouts, so I will hope to see him continue that explosive form.”
