Naoya Inoue chosen as boxer of the year in Japan
In Tokyo, Japan, a meeting was held to decide Japan’s top boxers of 2022, where 36 Japanese journalists voted at the request of the Japan Boxing Commission and the Japan Professional Boxing Association.
Out of the three-dozen available votes, the sensational undefeated former bantamweight champion (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) Naoya “Monstruo” Inoue (24-0, 21KO), 29 years old of Ohashi Boxing Gym of the city of Yokohama, was deservedly chosen by 33 votes as “Japan’s Best Boxer of 2022.” He was also selected as “Japan Boxing Knockout of 2022.”
Inoue, who's won the light flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight world championships, and is the greatest exponent of Japanese boxing today for his historic achievements in boxing reinforced by his prestigious knockout power.
