Waseem and Barrera will fight for WBC Silver title
Pakistani Muhammad Waseem (11-1, 8KOs) will face Colombian Rober Barrera (23-3, 13KOs) on November 26 at Motospace Dubai Investment Park, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the World Boxing Council Silver flyweight title.
Waseem, known as the 'Falcon', is a former WBC Silver champion and fought for the IBF world title, unssuccessfully, against his only conqueror Moruti Mthalane in July 2018.
The 34-year-old has once agan risen in the rankings after scoring three consecutive wins after his loss to the South African world champion over three years ago now.
29-year-old Barrera fought for the WBA World interim flyweight title in 2020, losing in the 11th round to hard-hitting Luis Concepcion. Prior to that, he was a WBA Fedebol flyweight champion in 2019, which is a title he has also held at light-flyweight.
He fought for the WBA World light-flyweight title in 2017 and narrowly lost on a split decision.
The fight is hosted by D4G Promotions and will be televised on ESPN+
