MTK Global have announced the signing of history-making super-welterweight star Muhammad Ali Zahid.
Ali (5-0) made history last year by becoming the first ever UK boxer with type-one diabetes to be granted a professional license by the British Boxing Board of Control.
He’s since put together a five-fight winning streak after making his debut, and he’s excited to now be teaming up with MTK Global.
Ali said: “I’m really pleased to be signing with MTK Global, who are the biggest boxing management team in the world.
“I’ve created history once by becoming the first diabetic professional boxer in the UK and now I want to be the first diabetic professional boxing world champion and I think MTK Global will create the right path for me.”
MTK Global promoter Johnney Roye added: “Muhammad Ali is a very dedicated & humble boxer who is an absolute inspiration.
“Rather than giving up on his boxing career because of diabetes, he has chose to succeed in-spite of it.
“He has teamed up with world class trainer Humphrey Harrison, and I personally can’t wait to see this young man make his MTK Global debut on our 20th December Bolton show.”
Ali will have his first fight as an MTK Global fighter when #MTKFightNight heads to the University of Bolton Stadium on December 20, with the bill also featuring the likes of Mike McGoldrick, Ross Cooksey, Sahir Iqbal, Lisa Whiteside and many more.
