MTK Global announce the launch of the state-of-the-art MTK Worcestershire gym.
Based at Mikey's Boxing Gym in Kidderminster and ran by highly-respected boxing coaches Michael Mikolajczyk & Kara Mikolajczyk, the gym boasts incredible facilities, an elite-level coaching team, and is home to some of the best up and coming amateur stars that Worcestershire has to offer.
By teaming up with MTK Global, it allows the extremely talented fighters in the region to now kick on in their respective careers, and Mikolajczyk is delighted about the new venture.
Mikolajczyk said: "We are very happy and proud to be teaming up with MTK Global and being home to MTK Worcestershire. The gym has gone from strength to strength over the past five years with some great success already in the amateur ranks, and this partnership will add to that as we continue to develop champions of the future and give young talented boxers from the area the best opportunities on their boxing journey.
"We currently have three boxing rings, over 30 punchbags, speedballs, a full cardio area, a full weights area with machines, free weights and dumbbells up to 70kg. We offer amateur boxing, fitness boxing, HIIT classes and personal training, but if classes aren’t your thing you can also just use our open training sessions and we are open for the whole community.
"Our coaching team has over 100 years of boxing experience between them, with a special mention to Rob Conway who has been with us as a coach from the start. He has helped make the gym what it is today thanks to his support, guidance, experience, love for boxing and wanting to see everyone do well.
"I have been around boxing and martial arts gyms since I was a baby due to my dad being a coach and fighter, so as the saying goes it has always been in my blood and I have always wanted to have my own boxing gym. I competed as an amateur and have been working in gyms, doing personal training and coaching for over 20 years. My wife and partner at the gym Kara also competed at an international level in karate as a teenager and has also gained her England boxing level 2 amateur coaching badge since the gym opened.
"There are a lot of good boxers from the Worcestershire area, and we have a number of talented boxers already doing great things in the amateur ranks with the ambition to pursue professional boxing careers, and now they have the best opportunity for the future with MTK Global behind them."
MTK Global Commercial Director Jack Johnstone said: "Mike’s gym stood out with his ever growing stable of young talented amateurs that I’m sure will go on to have successful boxing careers in the years to come.
"In addition to this, Mike serves the West Midland and Worcestershire community, working with special provision schools and academies helping troubled young people through the sport of boxing.
The gym is blessed with 8000sqft of space which includes three boxing rings and a fantastic facility for anyone interested in boxing at any level."
The launch of MTK Worcestershire means MTK Global has now expanded to an incredible 23 locations worldwide, following the unveiling of MTK Fuerteventura, MTK Alberta, MTK Leeds, MTK Miami, MTK Lake District, MTK Munich, MTK Denmark (based in Aarhus) and MTK Costa Brava earlier this year.
