Berchelt strides towards a March return
Former WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt (38-2, 34KOs) could return to the ring on March 26 against the Namibian Jeremiah Nakathila (22-2, 18KOs), in what would be his debut at 135 pounds.
This bout would mark the return of Berchelt after a year of inactivity, since he lost the crown via 10th-round knockout to undefeated champion Oscar Valdez.
Former WBO Global champion Nakathila would also be making his first fight at lightweight after losing a decision over 12 rounds against American Shakur Stevenson in June of last year. The 32-year-old from Windhoek challenged Stevenson for his WBO Interim title but lost every round including a 10-8 round when he was floored in the fourth.
He bounced back in October last year with a second-round stoppage over Zimbabwean Ndodana Ncube.
More details expected to be announced shortly.
