'The Chosen One' is back
Marcel Braithwaite and Mace Ruegg will both return to action next week – when they compete on a show taking place in Liverpool.
The Black Flash Promotions event is being held at the Grand Central Hall in Liverpool, with Braithwaite (9-3) and Ruegg (5-0) both looking to secure impressive wins.
Former English champion Braithwaite, 27, is due to make his long-awaited return for the first time since his October 2020 clash with Jay Harris, with the hometown hero back in action after 11 months out.
He is scheduled to take on Zimbabwean Taka Bembere (1-17, 1KOs), who has shared the ring with the likes of former Central Area champion Sean Cairns and and undefeated Amin Jahanzeb in his career.
Bournemouth boxer Ruegg, 21, is also back, looking to keep up his busy schedule over the past 18 months. The Bournemouth boxer has managed to stay active during the pandemic, competing on five occasions, with the most recent coming in June when he defeated Dionis Martinez in Spain.
He is now due to step up in competition with a clash against hard-hitting Benjamin Lamptey (11-4-1, 9 KOs), who is the former Ghanaian lightweight champion.
