4×3 Featherweight contest
Niall Fielding vs John Spencer
Fielding fast out the traps and straight on his jab. He was feinting and level changing, but caught with a straight left and right combination when backing off with his chin in the air. Then he trapped Spencer in the corner reeling off three-punch combos, was caught with another left-right in return. Fielding was digging to the body well and often. Spencer was goading him and missed with a jab as Fielding was wise to it and on his toes, then he ended the round caught by another jab from Spencer.
In round two, Fielding caught Spencer on the ropes to pummel him with multiple body shots and uppercuts, but the journeyman just laughed in return. Fielding landed a big right to the body, so Spencer waved him on and was able to catch him with a big left hook, drawing gasps from the crowd. Spencer showboating all the time, tried to land a couple of shots at the end of the round but was beaten to the punch.
Fielding jabbing with his left, looking to land big rights to the body. A good straight right hand lands on Spencer in the corner. When Manchester's Spencer tried to counter with an overhand right and missed, which amused the crowd. By the end of the third, Fielding was stalking Spencer and had the range and tempo of the fight completely sussed out.
In round four, Fielding was told to land bigger shots from his corner and there were some decent right hands and a left hook to the top of the head. A fantastic right hand to the face landing in the final minute from Fielding. But then he got caught with a jab and a right hand from Spencer, but landed a straight right back of his own as the bell sounded to end the contest. Lancaster's Fielding is a tidy, disciplined boxer, but is lacking in power.
Jamie Kirkpatrick scored the fight 40-36 to Fielding, who moves up the 3-0.
Fight 2:
4×3 Super Lightweight contest
Alex Murphy vs Joshua Ocampo
Murphy used his height and reach to full advantage to land long-reaching jabs and one-twos from range, but also varied it with body shots and uppercuts against an unambitious opponent, who didn't throw much at all.
Murphy was busy and accurate in the final round, switching stance to southpaw and looking good doing so. Two backhand lefts from his southpaw stance landed to the head then Ocampo moves sharpishly. Ocampo tried with a couple of lunging right and lefts but Murphy was quick to react, using his feet and head to get out the way, but then one of those looping rights did land from Ocampo in the final 30 seconds of the fight.
Salford's Alex Murphy moves up to 9-0 with a 40-36 points score.
Fight 3:
4×3 Super Welterweight contest
Ashley Marron vs Petar Aleksandrov
Marron feinted to the body then landed a big right upstairs. He was able to land another eyecatching one-two in what was a good first round for him.
Using his height and reach well, Marron kept landed those one-twos from range, quick to react whenever anything came back too.
Aleksandrov given a real talking to for punching after the break for a second time. Two big right hands to the chin as the final minute approaches. Aleksandrov actually landed the last shot of the fight – a swiping right hook to Marron's head as they tangled up.
Manchester's Marron moved up to 4-0 with a 40-36 points victory. He sold up to 200 tickets for this fight, so has a big backing behind him already.
Fight 4:
6×3 Super Lightweight contest
Ben Marksby vs Jordan Ellison
Away fighter Ellison brought in as a test and he's doing his job, landing clean jabs, one-twos and even an eyecatching left uppercut.
County Durham's Ben Marksby comes out more twitchy and reactive in the second, showing good early work to the body. He was hunting down Ellison at mid to close range trying to land his compact hooks and uppercuts, but the former Northern Area champion was keeping the contest competitive throughout. Working to the body, Ellison complained about the low shots coming in on the waistband, which has been this week's talking point in boxing after the Usyk-Dubois debate from last Satruday night. Marksby learning lots here. More good body work from him, swiping with left and right hooks downstairs. He has to be careful though because some of them are appearing to be landing low.
In the third, Ellison lands a throwaway jab in order to distract from a big straight right up top, lovely stuff. Finally a telling off for Marksby for a low blow, it's been coming. 23-year-old Marksby then landed another very low blow that caused Ellison to grimace and stop boxing, referee Steve Gray deduct a point as previously warned.
The fourth then saw another point deducted for the home fighter, putting him in real danger of losing the contest. Marksby landed a good right hook to the chin, then a left hook went into the body, way too low again.
Ellison lands a good right hand in the sixth but Marksby responds with a flurry of body shots. Good jab from Marksby rocked Ellison's head back. Then another good right hand from Marksby, countering with his hands down low. Another good jab from Marksby on the final minute was followed with a big body shot. Two great right and left hooks landed in the final 15 seconds, the latter was the heavier one.
Steve Gray scored the contest 57-55 to Ban Marksby, who moves up to 8-0 after a very tough test.
Fight 5:
6×3 Featherweight contest
Codie Smith vs Eliecer Quezada
Hull's Codie Smith started in his usual composed style, landing jabs. Midway through the opener a straight rand lands followed by a one-two. Then a jab up top, followed by right to the body while Quezada was on the ropes. When Quezada came on, Smith was able to take tiny little half steps out of range to counter with a flurry of his own. Quezada managed a nice right hand in defence on the ropes in the last 30 seconds.
Quezada caught Codie with a looping right hook in the first minute of round two, then lands a nice body shot soon after. Strong jab from Codie, as Quezada begins to lunge in and miss wildly, but only because Smith is so quick on his feet. A clash of heads in the last minute caused Quezada to look at the referee.
Cat and mouse in the third as Smith walks Quezada down. Both boxers switching stance. A one-two from smith, followed by a jab to head then body. It's a very technical fight so far. Smith catches Quezada in the corner with a three-punch combo, which started with a leaping right uppercut and ended with a straight right flush to the head. Then a right hook from smith to end the round.
On the two-minute mark, another looping right hand landed on Smith's left side. Smith's jab was so swift and strong, he lands a nice right hook to the body as Quezada covers up. Then two right hands land on Quezada at the start of the last minute. In the final 30, he landed another big right as he had Quezada backed into the corner.
Told by the corner to step it up, Smith pinned Quezada into the corner and landed two thudding right hands to the head, Quezada moved his head for dear life as Smith punched relentlessly for the finish, he stepped back when he realised it wasn't due yet. Quezada landed another one of those looping rights then another clash of heads forced a time out. Quezada goes back to the corner a little weary and cut above the left eye.
The pair trade off at the start of the sixth. Smith looking for another big right hand. Quezada going to the body. Quezada constantly wiping his left eye, which is cut and swollen. Smith piling it on, patiently waiting to get into range, good left uppercut in defence from Quezada. Quezada throws a lazy jab, Smith counters with a big straight right. Quezada is on his bike, barely able to see as blood drips into his left eye, which he constantly has to wipe away. The pair ended the round as they started, trading furiously with each other, a clipping left hook and solid right hook getting through from Smith.
60-54 points win to Codie Smith, now 3-0.

Lyndon Arthur vs Braian Suarez
Suarez lands a soft left hook early, then a big right hand to the head. Good start from the visitor. Arthur a bit too casual to start with. Arthur on his jab, launches the right hand after two minutes had passed. Suarez got through with another right hand to the head. Arthur needs to be more reactive here.
Arthur on his jab, Suarez lands a jab, then a booming body shot. They swap jabs, but Suarez can't land his and Arthur does. He continues to flick that jab upwards to Suarez's head. Then he lands a three-punch combo culminating with a swiping left hook to the body of Suarez. Arthur ties Suarez up a few times. Perhaps one round apiece at this stage.
Arthur doubling up his jab in round three. Suarez tries a one-two but Arthur rolls away. Arthur throwing jab to body and head, trying to get Suarez to drop his hands. Arthur lands a triple jab twice on the midway mark. A couple of Suarez's shots land on the back of the head as they clinch. Suarez having to leap in to land his jabs, which just grazes the forehead of Arthur. Suarez's left hook gets caught on the glove, but a right hook lands. Good round for Arthur, Suarez trying to adapt.
Good one-two from Arthur in the opening minute of the fourth. Suarez manages to get off some good work in close, which is where he wants to be. Referee Michael Alexander tells the visitor off hitting around the back of the head. They exchange on the bell and right hook on the button drops Arthur to one knee. He takes his time, gets up at six, then walks back to his corner. Twice in that round, Arthur let Suarez get close and paid the price.
Suarez looking for the finish in the fifth, Arthur lands a neat right uppercut-left hook combo. A good right hook to the forehad from Suarez lands in the final minute. Arthur saved by the bell again! Suarez showboats then two big right hands, almost like a carbon copy of how the fourth round ended. Terrible round for Arthur, who looks shaky here.
Arthur looks great when he's jabbing, landing nearly every time here in the sixth. Two good left uppercuts get through from Suarez, then a right uppercut! Arthur can't get out the way of them. Arthur gets trapped on the ropes in the final minute but lands a strong uppercut in response. Even round there, with Arthur scoring with plenty of jabs but the big, heavy, eyecatching blows coming from the Argentine.
Good right hand from Arthur in the first minute of the seventh, then a backhand uppercut that glances off the target. Arthur lands to the body, then gets backed up to the ropes by Suarez, but moves off wisely this time. Suarez pins him to the ropes again and lets off body shots but it's messy. Arthur is caught on the ropes again and just doesn't fire back. Arthur ends the round backed to the ropes and a few of those body blows got through. suarez has well and truly taken over the fight and perhaps Arthur is trying to get his senses back after the knockdown for a big finish.
Suarez is slow to get off his stool in the eighth. Uppercut on the inside from suarez in the first minute, the pair are engaged in close range. Arthur vry lazy with a jab and gets caught with a one-two, rocking his head to the side. Arthur on the ropes lands a good right hand to the head. This time, he's choosing to stay on the ropes. Good left hook from Arthur but it's risky business holding your feet like this. Gets caught with a left hook from Suarez. Big body shots fly in, strong finish to the round from Suarez, who has probably won the last four rounds here. Arthur needs to do something soon to turn this around.
Good jabs from Arthur in the ninth. Great backhand uppercut from Arthur, partially blocked though. Arthur finishes the round strongly with a fast three-punch combo. Probably his first round he's won since the third. Could be 6-3 to Suarez right now, so Arthur needs to claim the remaining three championship rounds.
Pace slows in the 10th as they fight up close. Arthur lands hooks to the body and Suarez sinks down slowly and can't recover! From nowhere, Arthur pulls it back miraculously! Arthur landed a left-right hook to the head and Suarez took a second to nod to him in respect, so Arthur threw a right hook-left hook to the body, the latter landing bang on his side, under the elbow, causing a delayed reaction.
The official time of the 10th round KO was 2:55. George Groves called it: "a terrific left hook to the body that got him out of jail tonight".
Post-fight, new IBO World light-heavyweight champion, Arthur, said: "I feel like I was taking over a little bit. I've got a good chin and I'm not afraid of taking a shot."
Proud trainer, Pat Barrett, said he has been with Lyndon since he was just a kid and he's now his first world champion, adding: "There's still things to work on."

Samuel Antwi vs Mason Cartwright
It's an electric first round, both boxers having success, trading blows, but Antwi takes it with a big left hook to the head that rocked Cartwright to the soles of his shoes. Antwi tries to follow up but the bell saves Cartwright.
The end of the second was exactly the same, another screw shot through the middle from Antwi rocked Cartwright's head back.
Cartwright stronger in the third, adapting to the sharpness in front of him. Everytime Cartwright scored a shot, Antwi would come back stronger. Hard round to score, but a good improvement for Cartwright, who is down on the scorecards either 2-1 or 3-0 right now.
It's such a high-octane fight, bith boxers having success as the action ebbs and flows. Antwi is loose and sharp landing jabs, but Cartwright knows he has to close the gap and throw in twos and threes, which he is doing increasingly well. Two right hooks from Antwi snap Cartwright's head to the side. Uppercut gets through from Cartwright but it spurs Antwi on to respned stronger than ever, landing a carbon copy of the left hook from the first round, that had the same effect again. That's likely 4-0 now, Cartwright just can't quite do enough to better Antwi.
Another big left hook from Antwi in the first minute of the fifth. Antwi showboating as he flicks the jab out from range. Cartwright a little less active here, the earlier action perhaps taking its toll. Slower paced round, but they end exchanging as always.
Cartwright slips to the canvas in the sixth – no knockdown. Antwi with a huge lead right hand to Cartwright's head, which looked hurtful. Antwi enjoying himself now and picking his punches with quality over quantity. Cartwright taken a little too long to throw, but finishes the round with a big right hand on the ropes, you could hear the thud.
Midway through the seventh, the pair hold their feet and trade in close quarters in the centre of the ring, neither one willing to commit to too much power in their shots. Good left hook from Antwi in the pocket, then another big left on the klaxons, every round always ending this same exciting way.
Cartwright is pushing on in the eighth but there's a lack of power in his shots, Antwi landing much more back because he doesn't move his head enough. Antwi landed a big lead left hook, then another. George Groves hasn't given Cartwright a single round yet.
Strong jab from Cartwright, good work from him in the ninth. Cartwright pushed Antwi back on the ropes landing a big right hand, but he fires back with a left-right hook. Quite possibly Cartwright's round there.
Cartwright comes forward in threes in the 10th and the last punch of the combo rocks Antwi's head back. Cartwright successful with the jab here. Lovely left hook from Cartwright, who looks a different fighter. He staggers Antwi with a series of left hooks. What a round from Cartwright! Can he turn this huge defecit around? Scorecards could be 8-2 against him right now.
He doubles up the jab in the 11th, using his feet to edge out of range when needed. Cartwright lands two short left hooks on the inside. Antwi busier when they exchange in range.Cartwright's left eye badly marked up. Antwi ends the round with hooks to body and head. Tight round, but George Groves has given the last three rounds to Cartwright.
Cartwright lands a big single left hook in the 12th. Right uppercut from Cartwright, then a left-right hook. Last minute trading on the ropes. Antwi lands a huge right hook as Cartwright's head is lowered and he freezes so he follows up with a another left hook-right hook/uppercut which knocked him out cold. The first shot knocked Cartwright out on his feet, the following two blows put him down so heavily, his legs folding from beneath him.
Cartwright receives medial care so the celebrations are subdued for a while. Cartwright was behind on the cards so went for broke in the championship rounds, even really going all out in the final round which is what led to getting caught cold. He can be proud knowing that he really went for it, so there's no failure there for him.
Antwi becomes the new British super-welterweight champion at the official time of 2:25 in round 12.
