Linus Udofia commits his future to Goodwin Boxing
Unbeaten middleweight rospect Linus Udofia (12-0) has committed his long-term future to Goodwin Boxing by signing a three-year extension to his management deal with promoter Steve Goodwin.
The Nigerian-born Lutonian, who next fights darren Codona (7-3-1) in a Final Eliminator for the English title on March 16, said “It was an easy decision to make. Steve has opened up many doors and has done a fantastic job as my manager. 2019 is going to be even bigger”
The 25-year-old has been managed by Goodwin for his whole career and started on the small hall scene but in the last twelve months has mixed this with TV exposure boxing on both Hayemaker and Matchroom shows.
Goodwin added, “We are delighted that Linus has committed his future to us. Our management strategy is develop our fighters through to TV platforms and this is what we have been doing with Linus. His future is bright and we have a big fight on 16th March that providing he wins will move us onto even bigger things.”
Unbeaten Udofia will now tackle Guildford's Darren Codona (7-3-1) on March 2 at the York Hall in a Final Eliminator for the English middleweight title, which was originally scheduled to be a Southern Area championship contest with titleholder Tey Lynn-Jones, who withdrew through injury and now takes part in Ultimate Boxxer 3 on April 19 at The O2.
Topping the bill is English light-heavyweight champion Miles Shinkwin in a maiden title defence to challenger Kirk Garvey on a Smith Sports promoted event, which also features a dozen unbeaten prospects and three exciting new debutants.
