Liam Walsh returns to Brentwood Centre
MTK Global have confirmed its next visit to Brentwood will be screened live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank as well as iFL TV.
The event, which will feature leading talent and include title fights, will take place at the Brentwood Centre on July 20 and former world title challenger Liam Walsh (22-1) and world-ranked welterweight Michael McKinson (16-0) are already confirmed to feature.
It's the return to the scene of Walsh's comeback fight where the 33-year-old returned to the ring from a two-hiatus with a scintillating third-round knockout of Reynaldo Cajina (14-61-5). It was 'Destiny's' first fight back since his May 2017 world title defeat to Gervonta Davies. Now the Cromer combatant is keen to continue his comeback to contention.
MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton said: “We’ve been really encouraged by the appetite for boxing in Essex and it’s great for the area that the big time has come knocking.
“Last time we were there, Liam wowed the crowds with a stoppage win and we’re keen to put on even more exciting fights this time around. Michael enjoyed a great win there in his last fight too and he’ll have big support travelling up from the south coast again.
“There have been some great fighters from the area down the years and in addition to bigger names at the top of the bill, we look forward to welcoming some show-stealing prospects on the undercard.
“These ESPN+ shows are already receiving praise and we are excited about raising the bar with them each time.”
Michael 'The Problem' McKinson revisits the same place he defended his WBC International Silver welterweight belt in March this year with a unanimous decision win over Midlands Area champion 'Ruthless' Ryan Kelly (13-2) from Birmingham.
News of further fights and fighters starring on the show will be published in due course.
