Undercard Highlights
There are three 10-rounders on the card. As well as the welcome return of Ritson, there's also Ricky Burns (43-8-1, 16KOs) making his comeback from defeat to Lee Selby in 2019. It'll be 'Rickster's' first fight in over two years against Sante Fe's Emiliano Dominguez (26-9-1, 10KOs).
Thomas Patrick Ward (30-0-1, 4KOs) also appears, as he finally faces dangerous Venezuelan Leonardo Padilla (20-3, KOs) after a false start, originally meant to lock horns in November in a main event, which was cancelled after Ward suffered a cut in training. World-ranked Ward palns to triumph over WBA #5 Padilla to force a world title shot in 2022.

Background
Ritson was devastated to lose his IBF Eliminator contest to tough Argentinian Jeremias Ponce in the summer, but the 'Sandman' has immediately thrown himself back into his rebuild to try and claw his way back to title contention once again.
His last fight ended in his first ever stoppage defeat, having only been beaten once before on points when stepping up to European level to Francesco Patera in 2018. Despite putting together a run of four very impressive wins, including a 'Fight of the Year' contender with Robbie Davies Jr., he was dropped three times in his bid to secure a world title shot.
His 23rd ring rival is Mexican Christian Uruzquieta, 31-years-old and riding on a five-fight unbeaten streak. He was a former holder of the WBC International Silver lightweight title, which Sam Noakes won earlier this month. He defeated unbeaten Irishman Ray Moylette to win the green and gold ranking belt in December 2018.
He was only just in action in October, claiming an eight-round points win, which was his first fight in over a year.
The pair are ranked just 11 spaces apart in the WBC world ratings, so this could be an interesting contest.
Quotes
Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum: "We're extremely excited to head to Sunderland with an action-packed night full of massive names on December 18. With the likes of Lewis Ritson, Ricky Burns, Thomas Patrick Ward and more all on the card, it's certain to be a memorable atmosphere inside the Rainton Arena. It is our second big event in quick succession following our world-title double header Revolution card in Dubai one week earlier, so it means fight fans are being treated to two huge shows on opposite ends of the world in the space of just seven days. These are the types of stacked cards that people can come to expect from Probellum moving forward, so we can't wait to give everybody an event to remember next month."
Predictions
Tim Rickson, BBN Editor: “It's clever matchmaking for Ritson to find a tough Mexican, who will bring the action and aggression to make for a good fight, but also lacking the power to be considered too dangerous after being stopped by the heavy-handed Ponce in his last fight. Now with 19KOs from 29 wins, I'm sure Ritson's team won't be putting him in with any more punchers like him in the near future. I think Riston should win this contest comfrotably on points.”
