April 28: Kim Clavel vs Naomi Arellano Reyes
The popular Canadian former world champion Kim Clavel, 32, will return to the ring on April 28, against Mexican Naomi Arellano Reyes, for the vacant World Boxing Council International flyweight title.
The fight that will take place at the Place Bell in Laval, Canada, will be Clavel’s first fight since her defeat on January 13 against world champion Yesica Nery Plata.
Originally from Nayarit, Mexico, Reyes now lives and trains in Los Angeles, California. The 28-year-old South American is renowned for her power, as evidenced by her five knockout wins.
Her most notable win came against former world champion Carina Moreno (25-7-0, 6KO) in 2020. In her most recent bout last October, Reyes lost a decision to Gabriela Fundura (8-0-0, 4KO) for the WBC Latino flyweight title in a PBC event broadcast on Showtime.
Clavel only has three KOs from 17 bouts, known more for her slick boxing skills. The Montreal female is on the hunt to regain her WBC belt, starting with Reyes on April 28.
