Goodwin Boxing expands their Kent portfolio
Goodwin Boxing announced the dual signing of the Jake Spring (1-0) and Jack Watson from Kent.
Both of these talented prospects hail from Sittingbourne and have signed three-year management deals with promoter Steve Goodwin.
Jake, 25, was a very talented amateur, winning 20 from 24 contests, including a victory over current WBC International champion Michael McKinson, before making his professional debut in April 2014 at the age of 20.
Personal issues meant that Jake, trained by his father Gary, took some time away from the ring but is now ready to pick up where he left off in a new chapter of his career under the Goodwin banner.
“I would feel it a failing if I did not win at least a British title,” said Jake. “I was a boy before but now I am a man and cannot wait to show everyone what I can do.”
Jack Watson, 23-years-old, had an even more extensive amateur career, winning 30 from 40 contests, and has a style very suited to the professional ranks.
“I am delighted to sign with the Goodwin team," he enthused. "I have only heard good things about them and believe that they are the team that will guide me to the top.”
Steve Goodwin was equally excited with the signings, “It is not often you sign two superb talents in the one meeting and we are delighted to expand our group of boxers from Kent. We are building a great team of boxers in the Kent area alongside other areas."
Both boxers will be licensed subject to approval of the British Boxing Board of Control.
