Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall rematch terms agreed
Josh Taylor (19-0, 13KO) and Jack Catterall (26-1, 13KO) have agreed terms for a rematch in February 2023.
The rivals will meet again a year on from their highly-controversial first world title encounter in Glasgow, which took place earlier this year on February 26, 2022.
Many onlookers were furious to see Scottish undisputed super-lightweight world champion Josh Taylor awarded the victory by the judges, when English challenger Jack Catterall looked like the clear winner on the night.
The Hydro in Glasgow, which staged the first bout, is in line to host the rematch on February 4, 2023.
'The Tartan Tornado' Taylor has been forced to vacate three of his four 140lbs world titles in order to grant Catterall the rematch he has been chasing since tasting defeat for the first time in his career in their first bout.
Taylor will defend his WBO super-lightweight belt to 'El Gato', who is ranked 5th with the World Boxing Organisation.
31-year-old Taylor's tactics and conditioning were questioned after the lacklustre display against Chorley's Catterall, now 29-years-old.
The Scot has since parted ways with trainer Ben Davison, replacing him with Joe McNally.
