José Charles wins WBC Latino title
JMC Boxing presented “Los Tamaulipecos” at the Lienzo Charro in Reynosa, Tamauilipas, Mexico, where José Charles (19-2-1, 12KOs) defeated Leopoldo Reyna (11-2) in a very competitive eight rounds fight.
The 28-year-old 'Matador' Charles won it by majority decision over eight rounds to hold aloft the WBC Latino super-welterweight title, a belt previously held by ex-European titlist Kerman Lejarraga and former world champion Jaime Munguia.
It's the Mexican's third green and gold belt, having previously won the WBC FECOMBOX super-welter and middleweight titles.
Charles is now unbeaten in four years, claiming two titles within each of his last two fights.
The undercard featured seven other professional fights.
