Issue 39 of Joe's Jab introduces JE Promotions' unbeaten super-middleweight talent
Joe ‘The Moroccan Machine’ Elfidh – a two-weight Central Area title contender who shared the ring with English, British, Commonwealth and World champions – is now an emerging promoter with regular shows in Kent and the East Midlands with an ever-expanding roster of talented fighters.
The head honcho of JE Promotions very kindly takes time out every week to write a column exclusive to BBN:
The Animal is ready to be let off the leash!
Charlie ‘The Animal’ Shane (6-0) is back on October 6 at Mote Park, Maidstone for his seventh pro fight.
He’s up against Bryn ‘The Bruiser’ Wain in a six-rounder. He’s having this last home fight before I put him forward for the Southern Area super-middleweight title, which was last held by Cello Renda but he has since retired.
He has passed all his tests, won eight-rounders, got the British Challenge belt, which the British Board like to see before accepting applications for 10-round Area championship fights.
The 27-year-old is ready to be let off the leash now he’s completed his apprenticeship and passed the necessary tests.
He’s an aggressive southpaw with a good work rate, and counts Joe Calzaghe and Arturo Gatti as his main inspirations.
Making (Radio) waves
I was a special guest last week on Kellie Maloney’s Big Sports Phone In radio show on BBC Radio Kent.
Kellie was a great host, she gave me some great advice as she knows boxing inside out, especially in the small hall scene.
Then, I was a guest on Kent TV on Monday – on Virgin 159 – along with my boxers Jack Budge and Luke Gibb.
All hard promo work for the Maidstone show I’ve got coming up this weekend on October 6.
November 10 in Worksop
I have submitted purse bids for Mark Bennett vs Kash Ali for the Central Area heavyweight title. If I win the bids, then I’ll host the title fight on my November 20 show at the North Notts Arena in Worksop.
I’ve got everything crossed that I win it, so I can get Mark in a Central title fight in just his third pro bout! For him, he’s a throwback fighter and wants to fight for everything right now against absolutely anyone! For me, it’s a statement of intent to all fighters out there, not just my signings but to others as well, that if you want it bad enough, then I’ll get it for you!
Dylan Clegg (1-0); Sonny Price (4-0); Hassan Ahmed (8-0); Chris Reyes (1-0); and Luke Middleton (1-1) are all fighting on the same show.
