NFL legend Le’Veon Bell is taking on gaming sensation JMX
Absolute mayhem descended on the Misfits Boxing press conference ahead of Friday night’s massive show in New Orleans.
Water bottles were thrown, insults hurled, bad blood, bad language, sirens, security stepping in, slaps, shoves, call-outs, walk-outs and hype men. And not to mention a Viking, a vampire and a guy called Uncle Pizza. It was pure pandemonium.
This is just some of what went down in The Big Easy earlier today, ahead of NFL legend Le’Veon Bell taking on British gaming sensation JMX in the headline bout, live around the world on DAZN.
JMX said: “He can’t afford to get knocked out by a YouTuber.
“If he gets knocked out by me, he will never live it down. This is an opportunity for me to make a f*****g statement.
“My prediction? Round three.”
Le’Veon Bell said: “If he knocks me out, he’s right, but that will never happen.
“But people are allowed to dream. All I can promise is that people will be happy with what they see from me.
“A fight with Logan Paul next is unrealistic because he will see me beat JMX and he will want none of that smoke.”
Mams Taylor, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, said: “Logan is a beast and so make a statement and the winner makes a case for a fight with him.
“This fight on Friday night is what crossover boxing is all about. It’s an honour to have Le’Veon here, he’s a legend and JMX is a legend in the YouTube combat community.
“It’s such an even fight and the winner has a lot of prospects going forward.”
Kalle Sauerland, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, added: “There are not many YouTubers with bodies with a sub 10% body fat. JMX is in super condition. And he is going in with someone who has dedicated their life to professional sports.
“That is why this space is so fascinating. Yes, it’s entertainment but it’s also about the challenges these guys put themselves through.”
