Jesus Saracho faces Cesar Francis for the vacant WBO Latino super-lightweight title
Jesus Saracho looks to upset the odds against Cesar Francis on Wednesday, January 25 on ProBox TV
Heavy-handed Mexican lightweight Jesus Saracho (12-1, 11KO) is looking to shock the world as he steps up against Brooklyn's Cesar Francis (12-0, KO), live on ProBox TV, on Wednesday, January 25th at the Whitesands Events Center, in Tampa, Florida.
The clash of two lightweights, trending in the right direction, will set the tone for yet another exciting year for ProBox TV, which looks to have a banner year in 2023, putting on competitive bouts, and now debuting their cards on a Wednesday night.
Southpaw Saracho, 21, who has been in fine form as of late, discussed his opportunity against world rated Francis on Jan 25, which will see the winner crowned WBO Latino super-lightweight champion.
The Mexican said, "I'm very motivated for this fight, this is my big opportunity, and thank you to ProBox TV for allowing me to showcase my skills in their main event against Francis,"
"I am coming to win, I understand this is a big platform, and I am going to make a statement against Cesar Francis. He is highly regarded and ranked and a win gets me a major fight in the future with title implications. I have heard many people say Cesar Francis could be the prospect of the year, so I am looking to derail his career and the hype."Cesar Francis, 32 from Brooklyn, is widely regarded as one the rising stars of the super lightweight divison, and many have hopes of him facing the top names in the sport. His win last year over Raymundo Beltran to win the WBO NABO title established him as capable of beating a top veteran in the sport, and BoxRec currently has Francis ranked as the 10th-best lightweight in the United States. For Saracho, this is the chance of a lifetime, facing a fighter who is approaching the top of the sport.
"Everything I have ever worked for in boxing comes down to this fight," said Saracho who has an 85% KO ratio in his professional career. "I gave up my holidays – no Christmas, no New Year's, it is just boxing. I am dedicated like never before and I am excited to fight on such a global platform because this is the shot I have always wanted and needed to go to the next level. I am going to defeat Cesar Francis. ProBox gave me more than enough time to train, and I am going to be the best version of myself, come Wednesday, January 25th."
