Jennifer confident she can HANdle Katie Taylor
El Paso, Texas fighter Jennifer Han (18-3-1, 1KO) is stonily set for her next undisputed world title fight against Irish superstar Katie Taylor (18-0-0, 6 KOs) in Leeds, England, on September 4th.
In what will be her first fight in Europe, the six-time USA national amateur champion will fight for Taylor’s hoard of titles in the lightweight division.
At a press conference, held in the lobby of the automotive agency Charlie Clark Nissan, Han’s official sponsor, she confidently stated that she is good and ready to face a difficult rival.
“The training has been difficult, as boxing is not easy. I have focused my energies on having a better diet and losing weight. And I have achieved it all, thanks to my team and now I feel real good,” said the boxer who had her last fight in February 2019, where she was the winner by unanimous decision against Jeri Sitzes at the El Paso County Coliseum.
“This is the most important fight of my life and now is the time, because this is my time.”
Jennifer, aged 38, said that she is aware that her opponent is one of the best fighters in the world, but she is totally ready to win the fight.
Joe Hidalgo, assistant trainer, considers this fight to be a great opportunity for Han to show how strong she is in the ring.
And if there is anyone who can beat Taylor it will be Jennifer. Katie has experience, power, wisdom, but she has IT too,” said her trainer, Louie Burke.
“It will not be easy for Katie and accordingly, we have worked on ingenious strategies.”
The match scheduled for Saturday, September 4 at England’s Headingley Stadium will be the co-main event alongside the eagerly-awaited rematch between 'Leeds Warrior' Josh Warrington and Mexican Mauricio Lara.
