JE Promotions duo Ryan Stevenson and Josh Padley continue winning runs
It was a fantastic evening of action at #MTKFightNight’s event at the University of Bolton Stadium, with two of JE Promotions' up and coming boxers both putting in brilliant performances.
Armthorpe's super-lightweight prospect Josh Padley (2-0) doubled his win tally with a shutout points victory over Blackburn's Naheem Chaudhry (2-54-1). It was his second 40-36 points win, continuing the theme from his impressive debut win over Jamie Quinn (5-82-2) last April.
Also from Armthorpe, 25-year-old Ryan Stevenson (7-0) defeated Londoner Jordan Grannum (5-58-2) 40-36 on points.
Closing the show was undefeated light-heavyweight Mike McGoldrick (5-0), who was victorious in his first six-round contest as he overcame the experienced Jevgenijs Andrejevs (10-108-3) halfway through the fifth and penultimate round.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Lisa Whiteside (3-0) continued the perfect start to her professional career, dominating on her way to an impressive TKO win in the second round against Evgeniya Zablotskaya (8-19).
The hugely popular Sahir Iqbal (7-0) ensured it was a happy homecoming too, beating the experienced Kevin McCauley (15-197-12) 40-36 on points.
There was also a shutout points win for the superb Liam Gaynor (4-0).
Before the professional fights began, some of the UK’s best amateur stars were in action too, with the youngsters involved in some brilliant contests.
#MTKFightNight returns in two weeks when they head to the Eagles Community Arena in Newcastle on September 28, with Thomas Patrick Ward, Jay Hughes, Simon Valily, Darren Reay, Chad Ellis, Adam Gair, Joseph Laws and many more.
