Jarrell Miller posts video apologising for cheating
'Big Baby' tested positive for GW1516, HGH and EPO
World heavyweight title fight with Anthony Joshua is off
Miller's reputation in tatters
The unbeaten heavyweight from New York posted a video online admitting to cheating after three failed drug tests ahead of his IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight title fight with Anthony Joshua.
The 30-year-old said: "A lot can be said right now but I'm a get straight to the point – I messed up. I messed up, I made a bad call. A lot of ways to handle the suituation, I handled it wrongly and I'm paying the price for it. I'm missing out on a big opportunity.
"I'm hurting on the inside, my heart is bleeding right now. I've hurt my family, my friends, my team, my supporters, but I'm [going to] own up to it. I'm [going to] deal with it. I'm [going to correct it]. I'm a come back better and I'm humbled by the experience, I understand how to handle certain things and I'm going to leave it like that.
"I love you guys and I appreciate you guys out there and fighters we go through a lot and I don't want to make it a bad name for ourselves. It's time to do right and get right."
New York State Athletic Commission denied Jarrell Miller a license, which means his career-high payday of $4.75 million for his fight with Anthony Joshua for the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles on June 1 at Madison Square Garden is now ruined. The decision was made after ‘Big Baby’ tested positive for GW1516 on a test conducted by VADA on March 20. The banned substance is known to increase aerobic power and endurance.
The damage to Miller’s career is catastrophic, as he has failed drug tests before and served a nine-month ban when competing as a kickboxer in 2014 for testing positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamine and was fined and suspended by the California State Athletic Commission.
