Josh Taylor gives his take on the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight
Not very long ago, Jake Paul was one of the most hated names in all of the combat sports. Since he participated in the sport of boxing, boxers basically wrote him off as a show pony. But now that the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight is finally set to happen, fighters like Josh Taylor seem to be warming up.
The fight was already scheduled 2 times but got canceled on both occasions as Tommy Fury pulled out citing injury and visa issues respectively. Looking from the outside it’s really difficult to tell if those pullouts were an act of cowardice or if the young Fury legitimately ran into problems.

Now that Tommy has agreed to fight for a third time and all preparations seem to be going accordingly, fans can have a sigh of relief, allowing spectators to indulge in a thrill on UFC odds. Something that needs to be mentioned is the fact that Tommy actually admitted to taking the fight for money.
What did Josh Taylor say about Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury?
The WBO Super Lightweight Champion Josh Taylor initially picked Tommy Fury to win the fight but now favors Jake citing, “This one has been coming for a while and dragging on a bit. At the start, I thought Tommy Fury would wipe the floor with Jake Paul because he’s just a YouTube guy and he’s not great. He’s still not great, but he’s improved a hell of a lot and he’s been putting in a lot of work and training with the best trainers over in America, putting in hard work.”
He further added, “So, I think it’s actually a hard fight for Tommy. I’m actually edging a little bit towards Jake Paul with the more I’m watching and the more I’m seeing, but it wouldn’t be a great look for Tommy Fury if he gets beat.”
For Tommy, this is a make-or-break fight as on one hand his father John Fury, and brother Tyson Fury have issued serious threats towards him if he losses. On the other hand, Jake has not held back in the verbal warfare department which could get the best of ‘TNT’ at any point.
All questions should be answered on February 26th at the Diriyah Arena, Saudi Arabia.
