Heru "Hero Tito" Purwanto dead at 35
Sad news as lightweight boxer Heru "Hero Tito" Purwanto (29-17-2, 11KOs) has passed away after suffering a devastating uppercut KO loss last Sunday.
Tito was fighting James Mokoginta last Sunday in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the 7th round, Mokoginta landed an uppercut that dropped Tito which who tried to get up before eventually fell unconscious.
The 35-year old then fell into coma and received intense medical care due to the cerebral haemorrhage but never regained consciousness and passed away on March 3, 2022 at 16.45 (local time).
Purwanto was an Indonesia Professional Boxing Commission (KTPI/IBPC) Super Feather and Lightweight champion, and was involved in around a dozen championship fights during his 18-year career.
