Trio of WBC Mediterranean title fights in Offenbach, Germany
Three entertaining sunshine fights for WBC Mediterranean titles over the weekend in Offenbach, Germany.
For the WBC Mediterranean cruiserweight title Moroccan Ilies Iyyas (12-2, 7KO) defeated Turkish Muhammad Ozughan (10-5, 8KO) by technical knockout in the fourth round.
Going heavier, for the WBC Mediterranean heavyweight title, Montenegrin Emir Ahmatovic knocked out Hueseyin Akdemir of Turkey in the second round.
Ahmad Ali of Syria and Felice Moncelli of Italy clashed for the WBC Mediterranean super welterweight title. This bout was the best of the whole evening and keenly contested. The Italian Moncelli showed a great improvement since the last time he fought for the same title against the Moroccan Bilal Jkitou in 2020, but lost on points in a great display from both warriors. Two judges saw the match 97-92 and the third 96-93.
