Sunny Edwards joins the expanding Everlast team
Everlast, the brand of choice for generations of world champion athletes, today proudly welcomed IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards as its latest brand partner.
Undefeated Edwards has established himself as one of the very best fighters in the world, and achieved his dream when he defeated Moruti Mthalane to win the IBF world title back in April.
The 25-year-old has been one of the most active fighters in the UK over the last few years, and will make a speedy return to the ring for his first title defence, putting his belt on the line against unbeaten Jayson Mama in September.
His willingness to fight anybody has made him one of the most talked about fighters in Britain, and it looks a certainty before even more success follows for the man known as 'Showtime.'
He is the latest to join Everlast’s existing stable of elite athletes, which includes Josh Taylor, Conor Benn, Jack Catterall, Lee McGregor, Chantelle Cameron, Liam Smith, Jazza Dickens, Archie Sharp, Craig Richards, Natasha Jonas, Ramla Ali, Jordan Gill and Hopey Price. Together, the #TeamEverlast fighters seek to inspire the fight in us all.
In signing a long-term partnership with the premier fight sports and fitness brand, the athletes will use Everlast equipment and wear the new Greatness sportswear range. Battle-tested in one of the toughest athletic environments, Everlast products have been imagined by a hundred years in the gym, designed and engineered to empower your best self.
They exemplify Everlast’s values of authenticity and dedication, as we champion brave individuality, seeking out people and partners who express themselves boldly and creatively.
Commenting on the partnership, Edwards said: "I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Everlast. They're the biggest brand in all of boxing, and I'll be proud to represent them during my next world title fight, and many more to come.
"It's been a great few years for my career, and I'm confident that having Everlast on board will help with continue to help with that success in the future."
Chris Zoller, Everlast’s VP of Marketing and Product Development, added: "We are ecstatic to welcome Sunny Edwards as our latest Everlast brand partner. He's proven himself as one of the best fighters in the world, and having him on board is a real privilege.
"He joins the likes of Josh Taylor and Chantelle Cameron as current world champions that have teamed up with Everlast, and we're confident that even more will follow over the next few months."
Edwards made his professional debut back in 2016, and it didn't take him long before he won his first title, stopping Ross Murray in just his sixth professional fight to win the WBO European super-flyweight title in 2017.
Edwards has added plenty more belts to his collection over the years, including the WBO International super-flyweight title, the IBF International super-flyweight title, the WBO Intercontinental flyweight title, and the IBF International flyweight title.
He also became British champion in 2019, defeating Marcel Braithwaite at the Copper Box Arena to establish his dominance on the domestic scene, as well as throughout the world.
