Prediction
By Tim Rickson, BBN Editor: "We have seen many undefeated world champions come up against Canelo, well prepared and ready for the biggest fight of their career, and just not been on the same level as the four-weight ruler. Callum smith was a worthy and formidable world champion, as was Billy Joe Saunders, but both were beaten by the Mexican, who is an elite champion like Oleksandr Usyk and Terence Crawford. You get world champions and then you get elite world champions, who are just on a whole other level.
I like Plant's skill and style, but I can only see one winner here. Canelo is patient and will give away a few early rounds in order to exact his game plan to the letter, which he always does, then I predict a stoppage from Alvarez from around the mid-rounds onwards, but could even come earlier from rounds four or five. The Mexican said himself that the first rounds will be difficult but that he will catch up to him and knock him out before round eight, so let's see what happens."

Quotes
Canelo: “It means a lot to me to win this fight for my legacy. That’s why we are here. He’s a good fighter with a lot of skills, but that’s nothing new for me. It’s new for me to have this much bad blood with an opponent. It’s very different from normal and it’s definitely the most animosity I’ve had with an opponent heading into a big fight. I’m sticking with my prediction of a knockout before round eight. The first couple of rounds will be difficult, but as the fight progresses, I am going to be able to get him out of there. Saturday night, I’m going to make history.”
Plant: “I’ve dedicated my life to this sport. I’ve sacrificed a lot. We’re happy to be here, but we’re not just happy to be here. We are here to win those belts and become the first undisputed super middleweight champion of all time.”
