- Dana White says the gate is scaled around USD 34m, which he calls a British record
Nobody has published a contract. Here’s what has been reported about the biggest payday in British boxing.
The headline number
The BBC reported that Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs, 38) and Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs, 36) are sharing a purse worth close to USD 200m (£151m), roughly USD 100m (£75m) each. Earlier reports spoke of £100m each. The Times reported that Fury held out for a bigger share, and the 50-50 split took time to agree. Each man’s previous career high was reported at around £65m (USD 85m).
Joshua’s sacrifice
Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh, Dana White and Netflix pressed for Madison Square Garden. Joshua and Hearn held out for Britain, and Hearn says the price was eight figures. “To keep it in the UK he’s got to turn down eight figures plus,” Hearn said. The fight went to the Principality Stadium because of its retractable roof, and Joshua took a pay cut of more than £10m (USD 13m).

Neither promoter has published purses, and the Netflix fee, sponsorship and undercard money are unreported. Netflix members pay no extra to watch. The ring walks are expected around 1am on December 12.
