Background
The unbeaten super lightweight contender headlines in his hometown at The Brighton Centre against tough German Timo Schwarzkopf, on what promises to be an emotionally charged night in front of his own fans.
Eubank was always destined to become a star attraction in Brighton and will be the first of his fighting family to box in the city since Chris Eubank Senior defended his world title in the iconic seaside resort in the early 1990s.
29-year-old unbeaten prospect Harlem is ready to build the seaside resort into his fortress as he fights for his first ever title – the WBO Global belt – and knows hometown support is vital when he faces Schwarzkopf – a fighter who has never been stopped before.
Quotes
Eubank: “The hairs on the back of my neck stand up whenever I think about November 10, and fighting in Brighton, in front of my hometown fans.
“You could say that this has been my destiny, that it was meant to be and was written in the stars, but this isn’t going to be a one-off, I want to make this the first of many big nights of boxing in my city.
“I know the great people of Brighton will come out in force to support me and the fight with Schwarzkopf, and the event, will be one to savour.”
Schwarzkopf: “Eubank doesn't scare me. Harlem, I am coming for you. I am thankful for this chance to prove myself and to show what I can do. I am better than all of his previous opponents and I have fought better opponents in my career. My last fight was against Miquel Vasquez, who is very strong. Harlem's last opponent was not very good.
“I fully understand how everyone expects this fight to go. They will be buying tickets and watching the fight on television, expecting to see Harlem win in spectacular fashion. But, sorry, that is not going to happen. I am far too experienced, tough and skillful for Eubank and I will ruin his homecoming.”
Predictions
Tim Rickson BBN Editor: “Schwarzkopf is very experienced after 13 years in the pro ranks, 27 bouts including four championship fights, and going 10 rounds with the likes of Jack Catterall. However, he has only won four of his last eight, but he comes into this contest off the back of two very good wins. I think the 32-year-old will give Harlem some very good, competitive rounds, but I think Adam Booth's man will be too sharp, very well prepared and eager to impress in front of all his local fans. Harlem is a good athlete, very fit, busy, good engine, with good overall boxing skills, slightly lacking in power though. Howeverm he is aggressive and doesn't take too many risks. I think Harlem wins this contest via unanimous decision.”
