Goals in boxing? “Obviously the same as anyone at the start, I want to do as well as I can and start off with the Southern Area and work up but I want to go all the way.”

Retirement age? “Don’t know really, obviously it depends on how it goes, it’s down to how your body feels so as far as it will take me!”

Team? “Carl Greaves is my promoter / manager, he’s top drawer, I’ve got a good relationship with him. My trainer is Kevin Lilley, I can’t fault him, got full respect for him, he brings me on every fight and we get on really well. Teammates are Darrel Church, Paul Hillz, Joe Jackson, we’ve got a really good bond in there at The Fight Farm in Basildon. Boxing style? “I stand orthodox, I make people come in and then make them pay, don’t get hit but I hit them.”

Toughest ever opponent? “Johnny Coyle, I boxed him twice as an amateur and in the pro’s was Dee Mitchell.”

Best venue? “Alexandra Palace, that was a nice venue.”

Other sports? “I don’t do nothing, I used to play football but I was awful at it, I’m quite good at swimming.”

Proudest achievement? “I won the Haringey Box Cup and getting to the finals of the ABA’s. Turning pro and being at 4-0 is probably my biggest achievement at the minute.”

What fight do you want to see happen this year? “I want to see Kell Brook v Amir Khan just to shut Khan up for a while.”

If you could fight anyone, past or present, who would it be? “Tyson, to see what his power was like.”
