Nickname? “Not got one.”

Favourite all-time boxer? “Tommy Hearns.”

Favourite current boxer? “Floyd Mayweather.”

Favourite fight? “The Barrera vs Morales trilogy.”

Boxing clubs? “Small Heath ABC; then I was at gym called Fight for Change on the corner of Chinatown; Second City Gym; from there it was East Side, where I’m at now.”

Amateur honours? “Won the Midlands title two or three times, won the Birmingham belt, got to the ABA national quarters and then the semi's the year after.”

Biggest achievement in boxing? “Getting the KO on the big Matchroom show in Birmingham last September [Amir Khan vs Samuel Vargas] was pretty good, but winning Ultimate Boxxer is the biggest achievement yet.”

Toughest ever opponent? “The guy I lost to in the nationals semi-finals, I can’t remember his name.”

Goals in boxing? “My goals right now are to open doors of opportunity, I’ve got a beautiful daughter and great family; titles are great, but they collect dust, so to set my family up comfortably, not just financially, but that would give me a lot more happiness.”

Team? “Jon Pegg is the manager, Louie Counihan is my pad man, Spencer McCracken is one of my coaches, my head coach is Paul Counihan, he puts me through my paces every day, me as boxer right now is all credit to him.”

Boxing style? “Different variations, I’ve got skill, power, speed and aggression.”

Ring walk song? “My last ringwalk song was Meek Mill – Ima Boss.”

Pre-fight rituals? “I like a nice steamed fish dinner from a Caribbean shop.”

Favourite brand of gloves? “Winning and Grants.”

Other sports? “Just football. I used to play for West Brom from around 10 to 15.”
