Gervonta Davis vs Keith Thurman is Vegas-bound
According to Top 10 Boxing, a deal has reportedly been finalised for Gervonta Davis vs Keith Thurman at a catchweight of 145lbs for December 9 at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.
Many believed that Davis would fight Teofimo Lopez next after his win over Josh Taylor in June, while others thought an exciting rematch with Isaac Cruz could be on the cards.
Davis and Cruz fought to a 12-round decision which Davis took unanimously but at very close scores, two judges ruling it 115-113.
Now that Devin Haney has moved up to super-lightweight to face the WBC champion Regis Prograis, the potential opponents for Davis are becoming leaner by the day.
However, Leonard Ellerbe shut down the rumours of Tank fighting Thurman next, "It never was a possibility, I don't know where that kind of stuff comes from."
The Baltimore boxer is unbeaten in 29 bouts, with 27 KOs.
