BOUT 4
Shocki Khan vs George Rogers
6×3 – Super Welterweight
It was a bit messy at times, with a lot of clinching, but Shocki just couldn't land the big shots cleanly that he wanted to. In the final 30 seconds, Khan got through with a big right uppercut, which he had success with earlier.
BOUT 5
Mikey Webber-Kane vs Christian Narvaez
6×3 – Lightweight
Mikey was sharp and compact with quick hands. He tapped on the gloves trying to find opening but Narvaez was a closed book.
In the second, round Webber-Kane was able to land a few combinations and work the body but it took a lot of hard work and energy to land on his wily, mobile opponent.
Mikey dropped his hands in the third and went into freestyle mode with some success as they traded but at other times he was waiting too long to attack.
But he landed a stylish pull back right hand in the final second.
In the sixth and final round, Narvaez stopped moving and the pair traded for most of the final three minutes to give fans and entertaining end to the contest, scored 60-54 to Webber-Kane.
BOUT 6
Jerome Campbell vs Daryl Tapfuma
4×3 – Lightweight
Londoner Jerome Campbell bounced back with a 39-37 points win against Zimbabwean Daryl Tapfuma. Super-featherweight Campbell, 31, was back in the ring for the first time in 32 months following his points defeat to Nick Ball in 2020, who is now ranked 7th in the world.
BOUT 7
Ahmed Hatim vs Rustem Fatkhullin
6×3 – Super Lightweight
Ahmed Hatim moved up to 5-0 with a shutout points win scored 60-54 by referee Mark Bates.
BOUT 8 – 9pm (approx)
Piotr Mirga vs Ryan Walker
10×3 – Southern Area Super Bantamweight Title
What an opener! Mirga looks cautious at first, then lands a right hand to the head and Walker's legs buckle from beneath him. He manages to hold on til the bell, just.
Another exciting round in the second with lots of exchanges but this time no big, fight-ending punches really landed.
Three rounds in and it's more entertainment than the rest of the show together. Very even round.
Mirga growing in confidence, consistently landing the same right hand that hurt Walker in the opener.
The sixth round it was the most action yet, Mirga and Walker exchanging in frenzies, but Mirga looking the more powerful and successful, landing some spiteful body shots.
Mirga landed a cracking left hook to the chin at the start of the seventh. Then he ended the round with a big right flush to Walker's chin. Mirga must be well ahead on the scorecards with two rounds to go.
Walker was more pressing and determined in the eighth, knowing he needs a big finish.
Walker predictable and slow in the ninth, walked onto a lot of shots. Walker needs a knockout now.
Brave Walker emptied the tank in the final round and was probably the better boxer, ever so slightly, to end the fight, which is a stark contrast to the first round.
Mirga was rightfully crowned champion at 97-93.
BOUT 9
George Hennon vs Iliyan Markov
6×3 – Welterweight
Maidstone's Hennon sharp and varied in the opener, using his persistent jab as a range-finder. Landed a lovely left hook to the body then followed up to the head.
Second round and Hennon is pressing the action, turning it up a gear. He's clearly got a set game plan and following it to the letter. He's changing through the gears as the rounds go on.
Third round sees Hennon stepping in even closer, turning up the heat even more. He's really forcing a high tempo here, backing Markov up on the ropes, then comes an incredible finish. Hennon stuck to Markov like glue then landed a three or four punch combo with hooks and uppercuts to cause a knockdown that Markov didn't want to get up from, staying down and opting to be counted out by referee Lee Every. He couldn't take another three rounds of that pace and punishment.
BOUT 10 – 10pm (approx)
Denis Denikajev vs Tom Ansell
10×3 Southern Area Super Lightweight Title
Denis Denikajev continues his unbeaten run – 10 wins, one draw – in a successful first defence of his title, scored 96-93 by referee Mark Bates.
