“Bonita” aims for a “Beaut” against Val
On Friday night, December 8, the World Boxing Council Silver flyweight champion, Gabriela “Bonita” Sánchez (9-6), will make the first defence of her green and gold crown to Valeria “La Pequena” Pérez (14-9-1, 2KO) at the Miguel Hidalgo Gym in the city of Puebla, Mexico.
The 28-year-old Silver champion, born in Puebla, won the crown by defeating the tough fighter Ángela “Chiquita” Nolasco in an entertaining fight in June of this year.
On this occasion, her rival will be 30-year-old Mexican Valeria Pérez, who, hungry for a victory, will visit the champion’s home turf in search of winning the prestigious WBC Silver bauble.
Both warriors were face to face at the official weigh-in, where they showed that they are in excellent condition: Sánchez registered a weight of 49.9 kilos; while Pérez was 50.9 Kilos.
In addition to this important women’s fight, the card will feature a host of local fighters looking to impress in their last assignment of the year.
