Money tips for AJ
Floyd Mayweather gave Anthony Joshua tips in the gym as he coaches him for massive Oleksandr Usyk fight
The five-weight world champion was spotted giving former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua some pearls of wisdom as the Brit trained for his massive rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, reportedly scheduled for March or April this year.
AJ, 32, is currently training in Dubai as he prepares to go head-to-head with the outstanding Ukrainian again after surrendering his straps in September.
Earlier this week, Joshua was seen giving some advice to Chris Eubank Jr as he was training for his now-delayed clash with domestic rival Liam Williams.
And now it was the Brit's turn to be on the receiving end of some input.
As Joshua trained on the bag, Mayweather was seen sat on the floor alongside him.
At one stage, 50-0 veteran Floyd, 44, pulled AJ to one side for a quick chat, before the British heavyweight got back down to business on the aqua bag again.
The Watford icon has been training in the Middle East alongside friends and fellow fighters Lawrence Okolie and Chris Eubank Jr.
And after meeting up with Mayweather, Joshua later shared a picture of the two together on Instagram.
The Brit fighter has been working with a number of different coaches since his second career defeat, and has now enlisted the help of five-weight world ruler Mayweather, who ended his illustrious career at 50-0.
Joshua posted a short video to his Instagram story on Friday, December 31st, which showed him hitting a heavy bag with the American watching on.
He posted the video alongside the caption: “The best to do it and always helping the next generation. Big respect champ.”
The man from Michigan previously offered to help train Joshua ahead of his next fight.
Speaking last month, 'Pretty Boy' said: “I told him from the beginning, I came on the record from the beginning, I told him to come and I could teach him some pointers.
"A lot of the time, this is just my take, the same coach you had as an amateur doesn't always make you a great professional."
Just like Joshua, Floyd was also an Olympic medallist, winning bronze at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, which the result against him is still considered as one of the greatest robberies in boxing.
He added, "Some guys are great at amateur coaching and some guys are great at professional coaching, and even my dad was the best at professional.
"At the amateurs, he was teaching me like a professional, so I'm going to always speak real whether people like it or not.
"I feel like Anthony Joshua, they're going to different coaches and saying 'this coach is going to work with him'.
"But I told him at the beginning when he was undefeated 'you've got some things you need to tweak because if you don't then you may come up short'."
Joshua is expected to face Usyk in either March or April with the winner of the fight potentially facing WBC champion Tyson Fury in a mega undisputed clash later in the year.
Fury was set to defend his green and gold title against fellow Brit Dillian Whyte early this year but negotiations over the all-British clash have stalled, with Whyte's camp reportedly demanding too much money, which 'The Gypsy King's' promoter Bob Arum came out publicly to label Whyte's team as greedy read more…
