Underdog Jazza Dickens is fighting to secure his family's future
Securing his family’s future will be Jazza Dickens’ main source of inspiration as he prepares to take on Ryan Walsh in the #GoldenContract featherweight final.
Dickens (29-3, 11KOs) is keen on continuing his superb run of form, after scoring a majority decision victory over Leigh Wood in the semi-finals in February.
While no date has yet to be confirmed for the final, a big victory over Walsh (26-2, 12KOs) would go a long way to helping Dickens and his family.
Dickens told IFL TV:“For me, it’s everything. It would mean that my family’s future will be secured. If I think about my partner and our kids, I could give them something that I never had.
“I am not lacking in motivation because I’ve got a great prize (in store) since I’ll be fighting in the Golden Contract final. The opportunity is there for the taking so I have got to take on my chances. If I want to do it, I have to do it now.
“I’m in the same situation now like in the semis. I am the underdog. We all know that Ryan Walsh is a better fighter, he has been around for a long time. So I’ve got to do the same thing all over again, I’ve got to prove myself again.
“MTK Global have been amazing with me. The opportunity that they have given me is really unbelievable. Before signing with them, my life was really in a dark, dark place. They helped me revive my career. I have just been so lucky to be given such a big opportunity.”
