Emma Gongora and Elsa Hemat disputing WBC Francophone title
Tonight, on April 6, at the Palais des Sports in Marseille, France, Emma Gongora and Elsa Hemat will square off for the World Boxing Council Francophone lightweight title.
Elsa Hemat is part of the national elite in the 135-pound category, and she was champion of France last October before losing her crown to Marion Montanari, her biggest rival.
Marseille's Emma Góngora won the French title in 2020 in brilliant fashion and hopes to continue racking up wins to get closer to a world title shot. The 28-year-old kicked off her pro career against three undefeated prospects, losing her first two bouts.
At weigh-in, Gongora clocked in at 131.6 pounds, while Hemat stopped the scale at 134.7 pounds.
The match supervisor is WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
