Elodie Bouchlaka wins WBC Francophone title
France’s Elodie Bouchlaka (7-1-2) defeated Serbia’s Sara Marjanovic (8-10, 2KOs), in Toulouges, France, to win the World Boxing Council Francophone super bantamweight title by unanimous decision in an entertaining match that she dominated.
34 from Belgrade, Marjanovic showed admirable heart and bravery, but she was outfought by Elodie, who showed her precision, power, and better technique. It's her second failed attempt at winnng the WBC Francophone belt, she lost on points when challenging for the lightweight version last year.
Bouchlaka is proving to be one of the best prospects in France today, and with this win she secured the first major title of her promising career.
The 28-year-old challenged for the French Female bantamweight title in just her fourth contest and lost on points. She captured the championship in her next attempt in fight six of her career. She then became a two-weight national champion when he secure the super-bantamweight version in eighth outing.
She is now unbeaten in her last six contests, four of those being title fights.
The supervisor of this fight was the Vice President of the WBC, Houcine Houichi.
