Overtime Boxing OTX Grand Opening Card
The inaugural Overtime Boxing (OTX)results from this Friday from the OTE Arena in Atlanta on DAZN.
Founded by sports media company Overtime and led by general manager Brandon Rhodes, OTX launched its boxing series featuring top prospects and contenders on an entertaining undercard.
The main fight took place between Elijah Pierce and Mike Plania.
After losing the first two rounds, Oklahoma southpaw Pierce (18-2, 15 KOs) rallied and scored a stunning, booming one-punch knockout of Plania (28-3, 15 KOs) in the third round. The finish officially came 53 seconds into the third round.
“I can adapt as I go. I have always been able to. My trainers told me to change the pace and do it instead of trying to box it out. He was trying to take a page out of my book and we just changed his game,” Pierce commented.
Plania’s only other losses as a professional came against Juan Carlos Payano and Ra’eese Aleem.
In another bout, 2020 United States Olympic bronze medalist Oshae Jones showed quality by scoring a unanimous decision over Miranda Barber, although it wasn’t a snip!
Haven Brady Jr. achieved an important victory by defeating Andre René Rodríguez. Top marks to Swat-Swot Preschool teacher fighter Gabriel Muratalla who kept his undefeated record intact by studiously outpointing Edwin Rodríguez.
The Judges scored the boxing match 60-54, 60-64 and 59-55. What class!
