Eddie Hearn is WBA Promoter of the Year
Eddie Hearn was named Promoter of the Year by the World Boxing Association in its 2022 awards series. Matchroom Boxing’s manager was deemed the most outstanding in this calendar due to his work on the world stage and the great fights he promoted.
Hearn was in charge of taking fights to many places around the world among which his usual markets such as the United Kingdom and the United States stand out, but he also made great evenings in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Spain, Italy, among other countries around the world, as a demonstration of the globalization of boxing and the interest it has around the world.
Another important point for Hearn was to have bet on the fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano as the main event on the night of April 30. It was a very important fight and one of the best of the year that made it clear that women are ready to take center stage and take advantage of every opportunity they are given.

Vadim Kornilov is WBA Manager of the Year
The World Boxing Association awarded Vadim Kornilov as Manager of the Year thanks to his growth in his role and the performance of those he represented during 2022.
Kornilov was born in Russia but is a U.S. citizen. He manages outstanding careers of boxers such as Dmitry Bivol, the Boxer of the Year, and Murodjon Akhmadaliev, unified 122-pound champion.
Kornilov’s main merit has been to identify talent from various countries around the world and make them stand out in the major markets. Bivol has been a clear example of that, as he has become one of the great figures of the sport thanks to his work in the ring and his appearance in big fights as WBA world champion.
In addition to Bivol and Akhmadaliev, fighters such as Shakhram Giyasov, Botirzhon Akhmedov, Hasanboy Dusmatov, Radzhab Butaev, Aleksei Egorov, Bektemir Melikuziev and Israil Madrimov also work alongside Kornilov.
