Eddie Hearn discusses Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight
Eddie Hearn has backed Tyson Fury to overcome Oleksandr Usyk if the two heavyweight fighters meet in the ring next year.
Fury is keen on a unification bout for the heavyweight belts but saw his dream of facing Anthony Joshua for the prizes shattered by his fellow Brit's defeat in September.
AJ has the chance to win back his three belts in a rematch next spring and, in the meantime, Fury will be mandated to defend his heavyweight belt against Dillian Whyte in March.
If Usyk overcomes AJ for a second time, Fury may be his next opponent in a unification bout – and Hearn believes he would emerge victorious.
“It’s hard to split those guys right now. Tyson Fury I think beats Oleksandr Usyk. I do, because of the size, because of the movement," he told the True Geordie Pain Game Podcast.
“I think it’s a great fight, it might not be the most interesting fight to watch [though]. I believe AJ can beat them all."
Fury and AJ could still face off in the ring but, at the moment, it looks unlikely that all the heavyweight belts would be on the line in such a bout.
Significant improvements are required from Joshua if he is to win his rematch and Fury has given his backing, even offering to train his competitor for the bout.
Fury's trainer Sugarhill Steward has stated that the offer is 100% genuine as he's keen to ensure that he gets his planned fight with AJ.
Such a fight would likely occur next summer at the earliest, should all go to plan for the pair in their upcoming bouts.
