Denzel Bentley reveals his 2022 wish list
Former British middleweight champion Denzel Bentley (15-1-1, 13KOs) revealed his list of names he is targeting in 2022.
In a tweet on January 10, he listed the names of his most wanted opponents this year: Brian Rose; Avni Yildirim; Hugo Centeno Jr.; Hassan N'Dam; Luis Arias; Maciej Sulecki.
He tweeted, "If I can fight any of those names this year, I'll be happy."
Battersea's Bentley, 26, is ranked highly in three of the world's governing bodies – WBC #40 / WBO #14 / IBO #57.
His shortlist is mostly made up of big names at the tail end of their career, but still a big enough test to prove himself at a higher level.
Brian Rose (32-8-1, 8KOs) is aged 36 and has only won from his last four fights.
Three-time World title contender Avni Yildirim (24-4, 13KOs) has won his last three fights between August and November 2021, since back to back defeats to Canelo earlier on in the year.
American Hugo Centeno Jr. (28-3-1, 15KOs) fights this month, on January 22, against countryman Antonio Todd.
Former World middleweight champion Hassan N'Dam (38-6, 21KOs) has only won two from his last six fights.
31-year-old Luis Arias (19-3-1, 9KOs) has won just once in his last five fights, but it was one of the year's biggest upsets against Jarrett 'Swift' Hurd.
Polishman Maciej Sulecki (30-2, 11KOs) is ranked in the top six with the WBC. Since his world title defeat to Demetrius Andrade in 2019, the 32-year-old has rebounded with back-to-back points wins.
