A former Queensbury Boxing League star, Teysty explained how he swapped the studded boots for the lace-up gloves.     What made you want to start boxing? I got released from academy football so had a lot of spare time on my hands and wanted to learn self-defence and my dad had done boxing before.”   Who was your boxing hero growing up and why? “Growing up, I unfortunately didn't have a boxing hero as I was too involved with my football so didn't really know any boxers.”   How old were you when you had your first fight and how did you do? “I was 17 and lost on a split decision.”   How well did you do in the amateurs? I did very well in a short amount of time, having 35 fights and 27 wins in just over two full seasons.”  Tey Lynn-Jones amateur What made you decide to turn pro? “After boxing for a short period of time, enjoying every second of training and fighting and after watching the boxing at the London 2012 Olympics, that's when I decided I wanted to pursue this as a career and do it as much as I can.”   What team do you have around you? “My manager is Tony Sims and my dad will be my trainer, he's been there from the start and will stay with me until the end in some capacity.”   What sort of fighting style do you have? “I can adjust myself to be able to have more than one style but my favourite is being the aggressor as a pressure fighter, coming forward.”   What ambitions do you have for your pro career? “I want to become a world champion, but I want to win all domestic titles first so that's my first goal before going off to fight and conquer abroad.”  Tey Lynn-Jones punch When is your first fight and who will be there in support? “My first fight is scheduled for the 4th March at Civic Hall in Grays, all my family and friends will be there in support, they've followed me all over the country and even to Ireland and Portugal so I'm happy I can finally give them a fight on their doorstep.”   Tell us something that not many people know about you? I have won national titles in football and golf, and will be having a boxing one to add in time!”
