Picasso's precocious masterclass
Mexican prospect David “Rey” Picasso (18-0-1, 7KOs) won a comprehensive victory, topping the bill of an event presented by Zanfer and Max Boxing this Saturday, at Deportivo La Inalámbrica in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.
Picasso utliised his classy boxing, with ample resources and great rhythm, to achieve a clear and well-worked unanimous decision victory over the tough and durable Alfredo “Rambo King” Mejía (15-4-3, 6KOs), in a 10-round super bantamweight contest. Mejia finished with a mouse under his right eye, while Picasso who donned a Panama hat, after the final bell, was unmarked.
The “King” unloaded an impressive work rate, involving effective boxing, connecting with quantity and quality, employing long distance and short range precision, plus clusters of body punches, round after round, to score a clear victory by unanimous decision, with cards 100-89 and two of 99- 90.
