Dave Allen and Danny Murrell start professional journey together with MTK Global
Heavyweight hero Dave Allen has hailed MTK Global’s signing of Danny Murrell – after the 18-year-old signed with the company.
Allen teamed up MTK Global in March, and his protégé Murrell has now joined his mentor after turning professional earlier this week.
The ‘White Rhino’ has trained Murrell for a number of years, and he is delighted to see that the youngster’s hard work has paid off.
Allen said:“I told Danny when I first met him to train hard and listen as I will train you, make you a better boxer, a better person and you’ll get life experiences you couldn’t dream of.
“He listened and trained hard and about six weeks later I said Danny keep listening and training hard and you’ll win that Yorkshire title you always wanted. He listened and trained hard and he won the Yorkshire title.
“There have been ups and downs with him as kids his age have but he’s stuck at it and now when I told him two years ago he will turn professional and get the best opportunities if he listens and trains hard and he’s done that too.
“There are four stages left for him now to complete of our plan in the next 10 years and I’m sure as can be we will see them through together to the end like family do.”
Murrell said: "I'm really excited to be working with MTK Global, they're the best management company in boxing and it makes sense to join them after Dave joined them.
"I'll be working with Dave, who I see as the best trainer and the best coach in the world, and with Dave working with Jamie Moore, I'll be working with Jamie too, which is great.
"It's the perfect team to be turning professional with and I'm really excited to get going, whenever that may be."
Allen added: "I'm really excited to have Danny joining MTK Global. I've been training him for years and have seen the amazing progress he's made. Turning over when he became 18 was always the plan, and the professional ranks are going to suit him perfectly.
"He's joining the best team in boxing with MTK Global, so we can't wait for him to get started and show everybody what he is capable of."
News on Murrell's professional debut will be announced in due course.
